Much has been written about Avery Brundage's lifelong dedication to the Olympic Movement, and a considerable amount of this work has examined his years as president of the IOC. Some historians have documented how Brundage tackled the rise of the Cold War politics during his time at the helm of the IOC, a challenge that Brundage faced by repeatedly demanding that the Olympic be kept free from the interference of governments and the machinations of foreign policy.
