Edited by Createspace. Lexington - 2018

Olympic athletes are in prime physical health. To compete at the highest level in sport demands this level of physical fitness and overall health. Unfortunately, mental health issues, often resulting from the emotional stress of a life-long commitment to training and competition, are not uncommon in elite athletes. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has a laudable legacy of commitment to the health and well-being of all members of the Olympic family. To continue this legacy, the authors propose an extension of mental health and wellness services available to all members of the Olympic family, as a component of the Olympic sports medicine programme.
