In the present work, the dynamics of archery arrows are studied by means of a mathematical model to evaluate their response to different wind characteristics and initial conditions. Numerical computations are performed to quantify the effect that the background wind has on the dynamics of the arrows during their flights. Aerodynamic and physical characteristics of two commercial arrows are considered. The background wind information from the venue, where the Archery competition will be held in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 was provided by JAMSTEC.
